paper crafting

Hi I wondered if I can get anyones expert advice, I do a lot of papercraft and although there are machines out there, you are either required to buy cartridges or I have found that the machines I have tried, do unsatisfactory cuts, ripping and shredding up lots of paper and having a lot of waste, would you advice buying a plotter over the likes of robocraft, craftell and not interested in cricut as I wish to be able to cut out my own designs once printed, any advice at all would welcome on your thoughts, as just had a bad experience with an ecraft from craftwell, absolute rubbish, cheers mags
